But, but, Omarchy!
I made the mistake of installing Omarchy yesterday, and now I can’t get it out of my head.
Omarchy seems like its own distribution, but it’s more like an evolving set of defaults for Arch Linux and Hyprland. It’s made by DHH (yeah, that one, eww) and has a decent set of folks contributing to it.
I liked it right away. Everything is configured for me and it looks nice and works well right out of the box. Installation as fast and easy. Omarchy’s default apps are mostly poor choices (e.g. Hey! for email), but I can change them easily without looking something up in a man page or the (admittedly wonderful) Arch wiki.
Anyway, it’s got me doing that thing again where I feel the need to have everything on both macOS and Linux. This always turns into a shitshow, but I can’t help myself.
