Because I need to get this out of my system

All I want is consistent copy and paste

I’ve been solely on the ThinkPad this morning and I have to admit that it’s not terrible, but I need to figure out copy/paste. Emacs, Terminal, and GUI apps seem to require completely different shortcuts and it’s crazy making.

If there’s one thing that will spoil this experiment for me, it’s copy and paste. I mean, c’mon. Why can’t I just CTRL-c CTRL-v everywhere? I need to figure this out.

So far the things I’ve found helpful with key bindings in general are:

  • Emacs bindings everywhere via Gnome Tweaks.
  • Mapping Caps Lock to Control, also via Gnome Tweaks.

Now, to tackle copy and paste in the terminal and Emacs.
