Linux Log: Thursday, April 24, 2025
When I sat down at my desk this morning, I fired up the Mac instead. I didn’t feel like “dealing with Linux” today. I missed a couple of my favorite Mac apps and felt like taking the easy road for a while.
A funny thing happened, though. I kind of missed the ThinkPad. That’s never happened before. I missed my split-windows in a fullframe instance of Emacs. I missed feeling like I was doing something different than everyone else.
Here’s something even weirder: I missed the control/super/meta key layout. At least while using Emacs. That’s just crazy to me.
You all know that I have my moods. Sometimes I tire of dealing with everything myself, so I run back to “safe” apps and operating systems. At some point, if I stick with it, those things might become Emacs and Linux.
